2 miles

Recently Harry told me to change how I'm doing my runs.  I still have to do a pretty good mix of run/walk and he recommended I:
Start the treadmill in the mid 3's on mph and walk 5 minutes to warm up.
Get OFF the treadmill and stretch.
Get back on and start over, this time at a running pace (anything less than 4 mph should be walking anyways) and start at a run, not a walk.

I did it this way today and it was way better.  My legs don't hurt and I kicked serious ass on my run.  I did my two miles, sweated like a sonofa and worked really hard.  I haven't quite made it half a mile at a time on running but I'm getting close.  I felt like the first mile came and went quickly but the 2nd one seemed to take forever.

BUT, I kicked ass on my mile time.  Wednesday's mile pace was 17:58.  Today's pace: (drumroll please...)
16:13!!!!  Wooo!

I had to take some extra time at lunch to get my full 2 miles in.  It's getting to where I can't fit it into my lunch hour, between going to the gym, changing, running, changing and getting back to work.  I have other options.  I could run after work at the gym and drop Mason in the daycare.  My problem with that is that he gets really sad when I pick him up from the sitters and then drop him somewhere else and disappear on him again.  I hate doing that.
The other option is to use the jogging stroller I have and run with him.  I'm totally intimidated by that.  I feel like I'm not strong enough yet.  And I don't want it to slow down my half-marathon training.  I have a very specific goal and a very specific timeline to accomplish it.  But then again, if I run with him and the stroller and train that way the half-marathon without it will be even easier, right?  I think I need to suck it up and just run with it at least once to see if it's really as horrible as I'm thinking.  It probably isn't.  Too bad it's still 98* at 7:30 at night...We'll have to get up early...I'm getting up at 5 these days anyways.  Guess I should throw him in the stroller and go.  We'll see.
Here's today's FitSnap.  GO me.
